Dan's Judo career started at the young age of 4 years old. He has been competing since the age of 6. After winning the Judo Nationals ladder tournament in 1996, he was already in the top 6 within the US. He then started to train Jiu-Jitsu under Ralph Gracie. Judo has given Dan the edge to succeed in Jiu-Jitsu competitions and helped him to go on winning the National Jiu-Jitsu and US Open Jiu-Jitsu championships.

Called “one of the most talented Judoka in US Judo” by his brother Dave, Dan understands what it means to be technical. He truly honors the idea behind Judo: Maximum Efficiency, Minimal Effort.
